East to the St. George Island bridge
Conditions: WSW 9 to 12 knots, 72 to 76°F, mostly clear; low tide at launch, then rising
Heading south down the channel from Battery Park Marina was hard work, with the wind right on the nose. Once I turned east, the sailing got much better, and Bluebell made about 5 knots off the wind toward the St. George Island bridge.
Coming back west meant going upwind again. I tacked with help from the motor and motorsailed the last stretch to the marina at about 3 knots.
Wind, temperature, and sky are from the Apalachicola airport weather station (KAAF). Tide is from NOAA's Apalachicola station.

Arrows show the direction of travel. Point of sail compares the boat's course with the wind measured at KAAF, so short stretches can be off when the wind on the water differs. Shoreline: USGS National Hydrography Dataset.
